Mendelssohn wrote to his Colleague, Ferdinand David, in 1838. Friends since childhood. David is a concertmaster of Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, here Mendelssohn was principal conductor. Mendelssohn composed this piece under David's assistance. He composed the concerto in 1844 and it was premiered by David in the following year.

Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor has a very beautiful opening along to the end of the piece, but meanwhile, Mendelssohn showed the strength of males within the music. Mendelssohn has a very conservative thought and taste, his music showed the classy interpretation which is very difficult to be found in the 18th century.

Therefore I would like to communicate the love between two males which is beautiful and real. Gay doesn't has to be girly or wear girl's stuff. Gay could act like a man and love like a woman.
